The Miniature Schnauzer is of German origin, and is the smallest and most popular of the Schnauzers. It was derived from crossing the Standard Schnauzer with Affenpinschers and Poodles. The Miniature Schnauzer has worked as a guard dog for farmyards and stables. Affectionate, obedient, and an alert guard, the Miniature remains as a perennial favorite, and makes an ideal, small companion dog.
