Some authorities assert that the Beagle originated in Greece, but the actual origin seems to be vague with no reliable documentation. It is thought that the name is derived from the Celtic beag, meaning small. The Beagle has a history of being a tireless hunter full of energy and quickness, who loves to explore the outdoors. It is an excellent child’s dog, gentle, unbelievably tolerant, and always ready for adventure.
