The Giant Schnauzer is a very fine watchdog. In German, ‘Schnauze’ means ‘muzzle,’ and no name better suits this dog with its bushy hair and full mustache. The Giant was produced in Germany from the Standard Schnauzer and was used to drive cattle for centuries until the advent of rail transport. In recent years they have gained more headway as a family pet being quite bold and protective of their family.
